Kapok tree flower

The big kapok tree by the museum of fine arts downtown is in bloom. Big flowers on a big tree and falling all over the ground. Shot this one on the ground using a small reflector.Kapok tree flower

At the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg

Took Friday off and went to the practice sessions at the GP of St. Petersburg. I like going on Friday, all the cars from the different series have track time and the paddocks are open and the grandstands too so you can get around and shoot all the corners. Shot this while the Indy cars were queued up waiting for the practice session to start.

Aylen

Aylen was one of the models at the Strobist group meetup last night. Shot with SB-900 on camera aimed to the left and bounced off a small reflector.

Lensbaby plus HDR

Shot this yesterday at Sunken Gardens with my Lensbaby with the +4 macro filter. HDR from three frames processed with Photomatix and CS5.

Flower

Shot at Sunken Gardens, St. Petersburg, Florida today with a Lensbaby with the macro filter. I should have taken a photo of the sign saying what kind of flower it is so I could tell you! :-)

Wet

First Monday after the change to daylight saving time. I don’t like losing the hour of sleep but I do like driving to work while the sun is just coming up. Stopped by my usual park for a few minutes before work. Shot this with my Canon G12 in macro mode. Touched it up with a couple filters in Nik Color Efex Pro.

Rainy commute

Took a shot while sitting a traffic light Thursday morning on the way to the office.

Pinecone

Took my lunch break at John Chestnut, Sr. Park today and shot this with my G12. Nice weather for a walk in the park. Saw an osprey dive straight down from about 30 feet and catch a fish too. No shots of that though.

Photography Studio

Thanks to one of the local meetup groups I had a chance to work with some models at a studio in Tampa last night. This is Danielle. Ran a couple of the Nik Color Efex Pro filters on it as I usually do.
